Mrs. Alma Mae Walker Givens of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Robert Hardin Walker and Maltie Elizabeth Calhoon Walker, was born on October 21, 1922 in Green County, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Woodland Oaks Nursing Home in Ashland. She was 92 years, 10 months, and 4 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church. She was also retired from the Green County School Systems where she worked as cook and lunch room attendant for 19 years.
She united in marriage to James T. Givens on April 11, 1946 who preceded her in death on November 19, 2012.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Maurice Steve and Kathy Givens of Ashland; a grandson: Kyle Givens of Richmond; two step-grandchildren: T.G. Elliott and his wife Amanda, and Tina Legg and her husband Lenny all of Ashland; six step-great-grandchildren: Ivy Legg, Austin Legg, and Gabe Legg, Caleb Elliott, Carter Elliott, and Cameron Elliott all of Ashland; a brother: Leonard "Joe" Walker of Greensburg; two sisters-in-law & a brother-in-law: Barbara Givens, and Barbara and Roy Lawrence Shuffett all of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mrs. Alma Mae Givens will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Cst., Saturday, August 28, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Todd Davis will be officiating.
Visitation is requested after 12 Noon, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.
