Arvie Mudd

November 2, 1934 — April 3, 2023

 

William “Arvie” Mudd, 88, husband of Loretta Faye Prewitt Mudd, died Monday, April 3, 2023, at his residence. Born November 2, 1934, in Springfield, he was the son of the late Columbus Everett and Mary Gertrude Cusick Mudd, Sr. He was a longtime heavy equipment operator and retired from Mercer Stone. He had enjoyed attending and watching Dirt Track races and also tinkering with old cars, steam engines and old tractors.

 

Survivors including his wife are two daughters: Angela (Gary) Brewer of Campbellsville and Kathie (Ronnie) Lee of Campbellsville, two stepsons: Tony (Ida) Yocum of Burgin and Tim (Jason) Yocum of Boston; eight grandchildren, Courtney (Rodney) Cloyd, Cody Yocum, Kyle Lee, Emily Brewer, Kevin (Hannah Lee), Brian Cloyd, Tristan Cloyd and Tanner Cloyd; six great grandchildren; Madison Craig, Mason Cloyd, Foster Thompson, Finleigh Chelf. Oliver Lee, Lucy Lee as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lucy Marie Dowling Mudd;  five sisters; Francis Hamilton, Mary Blandford, Josephine Adams, Betty Ann Barber and Mary Alice Higdin and three brothers: Columbus Everett Mudd, Jr., Forest Mudd and Sidney Mudd.

 

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with John Kesel officiating. 

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Campbellsville with Kyle Lee, Kevin Lee, Foster Thompson, Terry Keltner, Brian Cloyd and Donnie Cocanougher serving as pallbearers and Joe Roby, Lamont Linton, Mason Cloyd, Gary Maddox, Cody Yocum and Randall Thomas as honorary pallbearers.

 

Visitation will be held from Friday at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
