Mr. Bobby Joe Atwell of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Joseph A. Atwell and Clemmie Whitehead Atwell, was born on Sunday, May 18, 1947 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home. He was 70 years, 7 months, and 30 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the East Campbellsville Church of God. Mr. Atwell was also a plumber for Wilson Plumbing Company, and a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM.
Survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Celia Mae Campbell Atwell of Greensburg, having united in marriage on January 23, 1971.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Kristi and Rollin Gentry, and Jenni and Troy Moore all of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Bro. T.C. Moore and his wife, Chasity of Campbellsville, MacKenzie Colvin and her husband, Alex, Shelby Karnes all of Greensburg, Sam Moore of Campbellsville, and Grant Karnes of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Atwell was also preceded in death by a daughter: Melinda Atwell in 1983; and a brother: Ricky Atwell.
The funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Atwell will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Central Time, Friday, January 9, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. T.C. Moore and Bro. Josh Wilson officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Friday until time of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to Hosparus of Green River or Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
