Col. Edward Douglas "Doug" Line
Col. Edward Douglas "Doug" Line of Crestwood, Kentucky, formerly of Green County, son of the late Edward Dale Line and Gene Vieve Schillinger Line, was born on April 12, 1935, and departed this life on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Norton Hospital Brownsboro. He was 80 years, 6 months, and 27 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. Col. Line was retired from the United States Army, having served 28 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served two tours, and was a member of the James L. Pruitt V.F.W. Post #5813.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah Esther Stearman Line of Crestwood, formerly of Green County, having united in marriage on May 29, 1963.
Other survivors include a daughter: Karen Dean of Munfordville; a son and daughter-in-law: Dale and Kathleen Line of Crestwood; three grandchildren: Lauren Dean of Louisville, Meredith Line and Duncan Line both of Crestwood; a sister: Barbara L. Howenstine of Connecticut; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Col. Edward Douglas "Doug" Line will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Bro. Chuck Pollard will be officiating.
Visitation is requested after 9:30 A.M., Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, which can be made at the funeral home.
