Elizabeth Bloyd

June 12, 1925 — January 29, 2015

Mrs. Elizabeth K. "Kitty" Bloyd of Summersville, daughter of the late Bro. Joseph L. Bush and Delona Dennison Bush, was born on June 12, 1925 in Hart County, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her residence in Green County. She was 89 years, seven months, and 17 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was the previous owner and operator of the Brush Creek Grocery.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years Milton Creed Bloyd who were united in marriage on September 22, 1978.

Other survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Bobby Lewis Bragg of Indiana and Billy and Becky Bloyd of Summersville; seven daughters and three sons-in-law: Donna Gail Bender of Pennsylvania, Kathy Carlyene and W.L. Walker of Greensburg, Sandra Kay and Johnnie Walkup of Campbellsville, Yolanda Lynn Gilkeson of Greensburg, Ronnadeane Allen Bertram of Horse Cave, Sherry Lynn Bloyd of Summersville, and Gayle and Ricky Edmonds of Summersville; sixteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers: Daisey Durrett, Nora West, Ed Bush, Bill Bush, Robert Bush, and Robert Bush.


The funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth K. "Kitty" Bloyd will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Central time Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Saturday and after 7 A.M. Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
