Henry Carl Cook

O B I T U A R Y

Henry Carl Cook of Center, Kentucky, son of the late Urey Cook and Ruby Elizabeth Blevins Cook, was born on Thursday, December 24, 1925, in Green County and departed this life on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Signature Healthcare in Horse Cave. He was 97 years, 3 months, and 24 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Cook worked construction, was a farmer, and a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Air Force. He had the largest collection of dragon flies in the world that he donated to the University of Florida. He ran insect traps and at one time had collected 120,000 specimens.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years: Margie Perkins Cook on December 29, 2011, having united in marriage on May 24, 1958.

Survivors include two special cousins: Tom Blevins and Dean Blevins both of Green County; and a host of other cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Henry Carl Cook will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Central Time, Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of the service arrangements.

Visitation is requested from 8:30 A.M. until 10:00 A.M., Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.
