James William Beams, 79, of Mac Pitman Road, Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late James Arvin Beams and Mary Gladys (Underwood) Beams, was born July 9th, 1941, in Taylor County and departed this life peacefully at the Phillips Family Care Home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 17th, 2021, in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
He professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church. James was retired from Anaconda Wire and Cable in Summersville, Kentucky, where he worked in maintenance. He loved to farm in the Old Mac Community and hauled grain in his trucks. James served in the Kentucky National Guard of the 138th Arty.
James united in marriage to Brenda Brown on October 19th, 1962, and she preceded him in death on August 27th, 1966.
He later united in marriage to Peggy Jean Warren on December 4th, 1992, and she preceded him in death on February 27th, 2017.
He is survived by three daughters: Marcia Underwood and husband Mickey of Campbellsville; Cheryl Mings and husband Kevin of Campbellsville; and Rita Thompson and husband Chris of Elizabethtown.
Four grandchildren: Jaycee Mings, Sydney Mings, and Ethan Mings, all of Campbellsville; Chayse Thompson of Elizabethtown.
One surviving nephew: Jason Beams of Campbellsville.
One step-daughter: Debbie Scott and fiance', Mickey Milby of Greensburg.
One step-son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Patty Skaggs of Allendale.
Four step-grandchildren: Noah Scott and Anna Nicholas of Campbellsville; Mason Skaggs and Kenzie Skaggs of Allendale.
Three step-great-grandchildren: Livi Nicholas and Drew Nicholas of Campbellsville; and Reed Scott of Greensburg.
James is preceded in death by one brother: Vernon Beams in June 2009.
