James Scott

Mr. James Henry “Jim” Scott, age 75, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.  He was born February 17, 1945, the son of Fred William and Ollie Robertson Scott, who both preceded him in death.  Mr. Scott was retired from the Meade County Board of Education as a teacher and administrator with 27+ years of service to the community.  He was a proud Kentucky Colonel; a member of the Farm Bureau Board of Directors; a former supervisor of the Meade County Soil Conservation District; and a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville, KY.

Mr. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janet Scott; two sons, Travis Scott and his wife, Erica, and Greg Scott; and four grandchildren, Garrett, Allie, Andersen and Scarlett Scott.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home with Rev. David Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at 1:00 PM EST at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens in Campbellsville, KY.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.  Although never contracted, Mr. Scott was acutely aware of COVID-19 and specifically requested that masks be worn, and 6 feet of social distancing was maintained throughout the visitation and funeral service.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Buck Grove Baptist Church Playground Fund; or to the Bethel First Presbyterian Church.
