Mrs. Janice Harmon of Campbellsville passed from this life on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Grandview Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born to Robert L. and Cecil Chelf Bryant on February 22, 1940 in the Bengal community of Taylor County, and was 80 years of age. She married Garnett Ray Harmon on September 17, 1955, and they remained a devoted couple until his death on December 30, 1983. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
Janice and her family followed her husband’s work and travelled and lived in several cities. During those times, she worked at various factories. After deciding to come home to Campbellsville, she took a job at Fruit of the Loom and remained there until its closing.
She loved her family and was a great MaMaw to her grandkids and great grandchildren. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and would spend many hours working until the last piece was snapped in place.
She is survived by:
Four children: Connie Walker of Campbellsville, Craig Harmon and wife Sharon of Johnson City, TN, Lana Wright and husband Gary of Campbellsville, and Kevin Harmon and wife Tami of Campbellsville,
Seven grandchildren: Jeremy Walker and wife Christy of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jennifer Fitzpatrick and husband Shawn of Campbellsville, Christine Harmon of Johnson City, TN, Leah Scott and husband Jesse of Johnson City, TN, Mindy Wright of Louisville, Steven Wright of Campbellsville, and Megan Harmon of Campbellsville,
Nine great-grandchildren: Reese and Avery Walker, Rylee, Raegan, and Reid Fitzpatrick, and Emma, Molly, Ava, and Tatum Harmon,
Two brothers: Leonard Bryant of Campbellsville, and Raymond Bryant and wife Faye of Maryville, TN,
And a host of other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Robert E. Bryant, Willard Bryant, and Maurice “Buddy” Bryant.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Harmon on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Her nephew, Pastor Eric Bryant of Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville, will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 11:00 AM until time for the service.
