Jewell Squires

January 9, 1935 — October 24, 2019

Jewell B. Thompson Squires of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Richard A. Thompson and Lola Mae Kidd Thompson was born January 9, 1935 in Green County, Kentucky.  She died at 8:45 P.M., Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in Campbellsville.       Age:  84

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, where she was also a long-time member of the United Methodist Women and Romine Circle, a Sunday School teacher and leader of the UMYF.  She enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw

puzzles, working in her flowers and gardening.  She especially liked growing flowers inside her house, such as orchids and poinsettias that were hard to grow.

Jewell united in marriage to Robert Elwood Squires February 27, 1951.

Besides her husband, Robert Elwood Squires of Campbellsville, she is survived by two sons and one daughter:  DeWayne Squires and wife, Denise, Darryl Squires  and wife, Lisa, and DeLisa Knopp and husband, Sam of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren: Tiffany Storme Travelstead, Miranda Parsons and husband, Brandon, Steven Tyler Squires and wife, Patricia, and Savannah Lewis and husband, Zach of Campbellsville; Megan Thompson of Nashville, Misty Cheree Thompson of Lexington, Raven Skye Squires and fiancé, Zachary Lorenzen of Louisville and Summer Starre Jiniya and husband, Damond of Hudson, Florida; five great-grandchildren: Laryn Rueda and husband, Clark, Lennox Lorenzen, Ashwyn Travelstead, Campbell Parsons and Tyler James Squires; one great-great-grandchild, Damen Rueda; three brothers and two sisters: Jeania Miller and husband, Mel Rash of Campbellsville, Richard Thompson and wife, Margie of Glasgow, Bill Thompson and wife, Judy and Carolyn Spurling of Louisville and Leo Thompson and wife, Freida of Florida; special caregiver, Karen Dial of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Jewell was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Weldon Thompson and Kay Seaborne.

VISITATION: 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 26th

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Dr. Eugene Quek and Dr. Bill Davenport
