Mrs. Lou Vera Wright of Greensburg, Kentucky, formerly of the Black Gnat Community, daughter of the late Walter Mays and Margaret Wright Mays, was born on Monday, October 6, 1919 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Green Hill Rehab & Care Center. She was 99 years, 9 months, and 29 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member at the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She was a retired Fruit of the Loom employee, ran a bakery out of her home, former member of the Black Gnat Homemakers, Women's Missionary Union Member and was a Homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ream "RB" Wright on July 4, 2004 having united in marriage on January 21, 1939.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law: Billy G. and Shirley Wright and Ottis and Barbara Wright all of Campbellsville; a daughter and son-in-law: Sherry and Jeff Clark of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Phyllis Williams, Greta Wright, Stephanie Kidd, Shayla Clark all of Campbellsville, Jeremy Clark of Kansas, and Lydia Corey of Springfield; nine great grandchildren: Christopher Williams, Victoria Kidd, Karsyn Kidd, Nikki Clark, Kayley Clark, Jeremiah Clark, Isaiah Clark, Maci Corey and Madelyn Corey; one step great grandchild; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Arvel Vanarsdall and Nona Faye and Houston Simpson all of Greensburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lou Vera Wright was also preceded in death by four sisters: Claudine Bonta, Irene Milby, and two infants; three brothers: Harris Mays, Cecil Mays and Clodus Mays.

The funeral services for Lou Vera Wright will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Wilburn Bonta and Bro. Walter Wayne Milby officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Central Time, Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Wednesday until time for the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bibles, which can be made at the funeral home.
