Maydell Moran

March 20, 1931 — February 27, 2020

Maydell Oakes Moran of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clarence Oakes and Lillian McKinney Oakes Landis, was born on Friday, March 20, 1931 in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Green Hill Rehab and Care Center. She was 88 years, 11 months, and 7 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she was a choir member. She was owner and operator of the former Moran's Shoe Store, a homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She united in marriage Rural A. Moran on October 2, 1948 who preceded her in death on January 8, 1999.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Colleen Moran, and Larry and Sandi Moran all of Greensburg; two grandchildren: Anissa Lane "Buffy" Scantland and her husband, Jay of Greensburg, and Erin Beth Hickerson and her husband, Zac of Louisville; five great-grandchildren: Cassidy Scantland Decker and her husband, Evan of Shepherdsville, Cain Scantland, Caden Scantland both of Greensburg, Emma Hickerson and Peyton Hickerson both of Louisville; a great-great-grandson: Tripp Hudson Decker of Shepherdsville; a sister and brother-in-law: Nancy and Harold Dillingham of Prospect; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Moran was also preceded in death by her step-father: Clarence Landis; a sister and brother-in-law: Joyce and Foster Pickett; sisters-in-law: Regina Hall and Beatrice Kessler; step-sisters: Maxine Perkins and Evelyn Edwards; step-brothers: Floyd Landis and Houston Landis.

The funeral services for Maydell Oakes Moran will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Scott Coates and Bro. Jim Hagan officiating.
Visitation is requested after 9:30 A.M., Central Time, Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
