Sanford Dicken

July 19, 1942 — June 13, 2018

Mr. Sanford Allen Dicken of Campbellsville passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born to the late Bernal and Louise (White) Dicken on July 19, 1942, he was 75 years, 10 months, and 25 days of age. Mr. Dicken had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired employee of the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsvile as well as the WalMart Supercenter, and was married to Mary Judith (Shirrell) Dicken, who preceded him in death. Mr. Dicken enjoyed learning about his fellow man; he spent countless hours reading atlases and studying geographical charts, and regularly passed tidbits of little-known information about places to any who listened.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Three children: Mark Dicken and wife Cheryl of Campbellsville, Jeanetta McGinnis and husband Danny of Campbellsville, and Michael Dicken and wife Cindy of Shepherdsville,

Four grandchildren: Jordon Hurst, Makayla Dicken, Cameron Dicken, and Olivia Dicken,

Two step-grandchildren: Haley Hatfield and Braden Hatfield,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two children, Michelle DIcken and Alison Dicken.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Dicken on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. John Butler will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 14, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
